Sowore Slams ₦341 MTN Compensation, Calls It “An Insult”

Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has criticized MTN Nigeria over its recent compensation to subscribers for poor service, describing the gesture as inadequate.

Reacting to the development, Sowore claimed he was charged ₦55,000 within just three days for a service expected to last a full month. He argued that the ₦341 airtime compensation offered by the telecom company falls far short of addressing the issue.

“Do the math, MTN Nigeria took ₦55,000 from me in just three days for a service that was supposed to last a full month, and now they are offering ₦341 as compensation. That is not a remedy; it is an insult,” he said.

His remarks come amid growing reactions from subscribers over MTN’s compensation payouts, which have varied across users.

Sowore also used the hashtag #OCCUPYMTNNOW, signaling a potential call for public action over the matter.
