“It Won’t Save You” – Takuma Warns Young People on Love and Faith
Thinker and media strategist Nurain Takuma has sparked discussion online after cautioning young people against romantic relationships he believes pull them away from faith and religious values.
In a viral video, Takuma advised youths to be careful about who they become emotionally attached to, saying some relationships may create distractions rather than bring positive growth. He described partners as people many consider “the love of your life” but who could sometimes influence harmful choices.
“When you love someone, you do anything for them. Sometimes even things that pull you away from God,” Takuma said. He argued that certain behaviours in relationships can gradually lead people into actions they may later regret.
Takuma also questioned the use of “love” to justify relationships he believes conflict with religious teachings. “If the relationship is taking you away from Him, then it is not love; it’s a distraction,” he stated.
According to him, genuine care for another person should include concern for their spiritual wellbeing and future. He added that people should place greater value on pleasing God than seeking approval from someone who may not remain in their lives permanently.
He ended by urging youths to rethink modern dating culture, saying: “Real love should pull you closer to God, not away from Him.”
