Doctor Advises Couples on Best Fertility Window for Pregnancy

U.S.-trained medical doctor and Managing Director of Heritage Men’s Clinic, Dr. Rasheed Abassi, has advised couples trying to conceive to focus on days 11 to 14 after the start of a woman’s menstrual cycle, describing the period as the most fertile stage for many women.

Speaking during an interview on SelahMeditate, Abassi cautioned against pressure and anxiety linked to scheduled intimacy, saying stress can negatively affect performance. According to him, turning intimacy into a strict obligation may create emotional and physical tension for men.

He explained that sperm can survive inside the female reproductive system for up to three days under favourable conditions, meaning intercourse before ovulation may still lead to pregnancy. He also emphasized the importance of emotional connection and foreplay during intimacy.

The doctor encouraged men to prepare physically and mentally during the fertility window by resting properly, eating well, and maintaining healthy habits.

On prostate health, Abassi repeated his earlier recommendation regarding regular ejaculation for men’s health but clarified that couples trying for pregnancy may need spacing and proper timing during ovulation. He added that ovulation symptoms vary among women and may include body changes such as tenderness, discomfort, or discharge, noting that the egg remains viable for only about 24 hours after release.
