Kidnappers Kill Jigawa ADC Governorship Aspirant After Collecting ₦75 Million Ransom
Kidnappers have reportedly killed Jigawa ADC governorship aspirant, Alhaji Hon. Abba Anas Adamu Laushi, along the Kaduna-Abuja highway days after abducting him while travelling to purchase his nomination form.
He was kidnapped last Friday alongside Ali Tukur Gantsa after they were intercepted by armed men. The abductors later demanded ₦75 million for their release. While “Ali Tukur Gantsa managed to escape,” the kidnappers allegedly “tragically killed” Hon. Abba Anas even after receiving the ransom payment. His body is currently being conveyed to Kano for burial arrangements.
Abba Anas was a former member of the House of Representatives who served between 2007 and 2011, representing the Birniwa, Guri, and Kirikasamma Federal Constituency of Jigawa State. Before his death, he was contesting for the Jigawa State governorship under the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Family members and associates described the incident as devastating, saying he lost his life “at the hands of these heartless criminals while on a journey to fulfill his political aspirations.” They prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive him and grant him eternal rest.
