Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Atiku Abubakar, has officially received his payment receipt after purchasing the party’s presidential nomination form for the 2027 general election.

According to the ADC, the payment for the ₦90 million nomination form was completed on May 8, 2026.

The party confirmed the development in a statement shared on its official X account on Saturday.

“A New Chapter in Nigeria’s Democratic Journey,” the statement began. “H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has officially received his payment receipt to contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.”

The party described the move as an important step in what it called a growing campaign for democratic inclusion, national renewal, and people-focused leadership.

The ADC also stated that Nigerians are increasingly searching for credible political alternatives, adding that the party remains committed to promoting unity, economic recovery, security, and national development.

According to the statement, the formal presentation of the nomination forms is expected to take place on Monday at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.

“The movement is growing. Hope is rising. Expect more,” the party added.
