“You’ll Hear Revelations” – Gov Yusuf Fires Back at Kwankwaso
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has openly responded to his former political mentor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for the first time, warning that he may reveal hidden details if provoked further. Speaking on Monday in Rano during All Progressive Congress, APC senator Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila’s affirmation event, Yusuf said his silence should not be seen as weakness.
“How can a 69-year-old call a 63-year-old a child? I only kept quiet out of respect because you are slightly older than me,” Yusuf said, apparently reacting to recent remarks by Kwankwaso. He added, “If an elder refuses to respect himself and remain calm, the younger person will eventually speak… Otherwise, people will hear many revelations.”
The tension follows Kwankwaso’s earlier interview with Trust TV, where he said Yusuf made a “big mistake” by leaving the Kwankwasiyya Movement and claimed he was responsible for making his former aide governor. The two politicians split earlier this year, and Yusuf’s latest comments suggest the political disagreement has now become a direct public confrontation.
