Over 120 Arrested in Paris After PSG Fans Clash With Police

Nearly 130 people were arrested across the Paris metropolitan area after clashes broke out between Paris Saint-Germain supporters and police following the club’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League final.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said 127 people were detained overnight, including 107 arrests within Paris, after PSG defeated Bayern Munich to secure a place in the final for the second consecutive year.

According to officials, 11 people were injured during the unrest, including one person seriously hurt by a mortar explosion, while 23 police officers sustained minor injuries. Disturbances were reported around the Parc des Princes stadium and on the Champs-Elysees as police moved to disperse crowds and prevent road blockages.

Nunez condemned the violence, accusing some individuals of using celebrations as an opportunity to confront law enforcement and cause disorder. He also praised police for preventing widespread looting and property destruction.

Security is expected to be tightened ahead of the May 30 final against Arsenal in Budapest, Hungary.
