Miyetti Allah President Bello Bodejo Arrested in Taraba After APC Meeting
Security operatives on Thursday night reportedly arrested Bello Bodejo, an APC aspirant for the Taraba Central Senate seat, shortly after he addressed supporters at the party’s state secretariat in Jalingo.
Bodejo had arrived in Taraba aboard a private jet and was welcomed by large crowds from five local government areas before attending the gathering.
According to his aide, Umar, Bodejo was later detained at a security office he visited alongside some associates, who were allegedly instructed to leave the premises. Umar said the group had not been informed of his whereabouts or the reason for the arrest.
Before his detention, Bodejo declared that he would not withdraw from the senatorial race, insisting that nobody could pressure him into stepping aside. He also stated that the consensus committee linked to Governor Agbu Kefas had not contacted him.
This is reportedly the second time Bodejo has been arrested, following his earlier detention by the DSS in 2024 over allegations linked to the formation of a Fulani vigilante group in Nasarawa State.
