Real Madrid have announced a €500,000 fine each for Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni following a serious altercation during training.

The punishment is reportedly the largest internal fine ever issued by the Spanish club.

The incident happened after a clash between the two midfielders during a training session, which reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation.

Valverde was later taken to hospital after suffering what was described as a “traumatic brain injury.” While Tchouaméni returned to training on Friday, Valverde is expected to miss this weekend’s LaLiga match against Barcelona.

In an official statement, Real Madrid said both players appeared before the club’s investigating officer and expressed regret over the incident.

The statement added that Valverde and Tchouaméni apologized to one another, as well as to the club, teammates, coaching staff, and supporters. They also agreed to cooperate fully and accept any disciplinary action considered necessary by the club.

Real Madrid confirmed that both players have now been fined €500,000 each, bringing the internal disciplinary process to a close.
