EFCC Declares Ex-Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq Wanted Over Alleged Fund Diversion
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over alleged abuse of office and diversion of public funds.
The anti-graft agency made the announcement in a notice published on its official website on Saturday.
According to the EFCC, Farouq, 52, is from Zamfara State, while her last known address was listed as EN008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The commission urged anyone with useful information about her whereabouts to contact any EFCC office across the country. Contact phone numbers were also provided in the notice to assist with information related to her arrest.
Sadiya Umar Farouq was appointed Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development by former President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2019 and was among the youngest ministers in his cabinet at the time.
AREWA POST recalls that on April 16, 2026, a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, issued a warrant for her arrest.
