Donald Trump’ Buffalo Spared From Eid Sacrifice After Going Viral

A viral buffalo nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its blond tuft has been saved from Eid al-Adha sacrifice following a last-minute government intervention in Bangladesh.

The rare albino buffalo, which weighs nearly 700 kilograms, had reportedly already been sold for ritual slaughter before authorities stepped in due to growing public attention and security concerns.

A Home Ministry official said the decision was made after large crowds began gathering to see the animal ahead of Thursday’s festival.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed reportedly ordered that the buffalo be spared and that the buyer receive a refund.

The animal has since been moved to the national zoo in Dhaka.

“At the last moment, the decision was taken to spare the buffalo from sacrifice due to security concerns and the unusual level of public interest,” a ministry official said.

Videos and photos of the buffalo spread widely online, attracting visitors from different areas who came to see its blond fringe and calm appearance.

Farm owner Ziauddin Mridha said the nickname came from his younger brother, who noticed what he believed was a resemblance to former US President Donald Trump.

Mridha added that the buffalo is unusually gentle and requires special care, including regular feeding and bathing.

Albino buffaloes are considered rare in Bangladesh, where most cattle are dark-colored, making the animal especially noticeable during the Eid livestock season.
