Former Ondo Governor Mimiko Defects to APC
Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mimiko announced his defection on Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Ondo City, where he was formally welcomed by the state chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, alongside party leaders and supporters.
The former governor is the first person in Ondo State’s history to serve two terms as governor.
His move to the APC follows the earlier defection of many of his loyalists to the ruling party in 2025, a development many political observers saw as preparation for his eventual switch.
